1960’s Chest of Drawers

Made by American of Martinsville, this set of walnut chest of drawers are a wonderful example of the furniture made by this company founded in 1906 by Virginia Tobacco producers. Typically, the company used oak as their secondary wood inside the drawers and gave preferential treatment to walnut as the primary wood. These were brought to the workshop to be stripped and refinished.

This work was commissioned by Absolutely Nice Vintage, a company based in Carlisle selling distinctive quality vintage furniture and homeware. They specialise in 1960’s furniture and often find quite rare examples of work from this period. John and Josh have worked with Absolutely Nice on several projects.
